Little Dieunika has arrived in the U.S. for her life-saving surgery!

April 1, 2008 - 4:39pm - Tuesday - Titusville, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston (Air Mobile Joe)

After a long and ardous battle with Immigration, we have little Dieunike, a 2 year old girl born with a very serious deformity in her body. Because of the extreme generosity and love of many, she is soon to have her surgery. We'll give you an updated report in the very near future!!

Air Mobile Joe

Now, read about an amazing (but sad) rescue flight to Haiti - A call in the night.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63JbIczKpI/AAAAAAAAAFI/XdAp0_ye98c/s400/2-09-08+Rescue+Team.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165005815625755282" />
A CALL IN THE NIGHT!!

February 16, 2008 - Saturday - 1:37pm (Eastern Time) - Titusville, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston (Air Mobile Joe)

The voice on the other end of the phone was the daughter of a dear missionary that had recently passed away. After expressing my deep regret to Sherry about the loss of her father, she got down to the business of the call. A Haitian pastor and his wife had been severely burned in a freak accident. They needed help immediately to survive. Having dealt with burn victims before, I knew how delicate and desperate this mission would be. My precious wife Cindy and I prayed about it and we knew that I had to attempt to help them!<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63JpoczKqI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/YwTsgx3vY6k/s400/2-09-08+Doug+in+cockpit.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165006064733858466" />
It was Friday morning, February 1, 2008. We needed an airplane and medical personnel to accompany us. Our Lord was there!! My dear friend and fellow pilot, Doug Rodante immediately agreed to the flight and the usage of his Cessna 401. Then we needed a nurse to come along. A friend walked through the door of our office and I just asked if he knew a nurse with a passport willing to fly to Haiti within the next couple of hours. Within minutes, I had spoken with Jody, a nurse willing to go.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63Kf4czKrI/AAAAAAAAAFY/3TTo8LiPmXY/s400/2-09-08+Jody+the+Nurse.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165006996741761714" />
We needed someone who knew Haiti and could back-up the entire operation. The Lord prompted me to call my son, Christian. Christian knows Haiti! He was born there and is my best "right-hand" man. I phoned him and asked how long it would take him to get to the airport. He said 25 minutes. Our team was complete.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63MU4czKsI/AAAAAAAAAFg/joPTpkByWLI/s400/2-09-08+Christian+and+Joe.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165009006786456258" />
Next we needed assurance that our burn victims could make the flight. After numerous calls to and from Haiti the word came that they were transporting the victims to Port-Au-Prince to meet our airplane. The time was 11:55am, Friday morning. That was our "GO AHEAD" signal. Within minutes Doug was in the air heading to our airport. Jody left her hospital in the middle of her shift (with her bosses blessing). Christian dropped everything and headed straight for the airport and we met at Space Center Executive Airport (Titusville, FL). We topped the airplane off with fuel and at 2:52pm on Friday afternoon, we embarqued on our tenuous journey to Haiti.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63REoczKtI/AAAAAAAAAFo/mqfYl95ENXQ/s400/2-09-08+Joe+and+Junior+hugging.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165014225171720914" />
The flight is a bit long on a single tank of fuel so we landed at the midway point, Exuma International Airport in the Bahamas. While calling the tower, I asked if my good friend, Junior Strahan was available to fuel us. Junior has been fueling our airplanes since Christian (now 25) was a babe in arms. Junior shared the sad news that his daughter had just passed away and that the funeral would be tomorrow (Saturday). Please remember my good friend Junior in your prayers. We had a quick turn around on the fuel, filed our IFR (Instrument Flight Rule) flight plan and headed toward Haiti on a very, very dark night. It was like flying into a black hole. The plane flew beautifully.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63SGoczKuI/AAAAAAAAAFw/FK1OUf2Wk3k/s400/2-09-08+Black+cockpit.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165015359043087074" />
We landed in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti within minutes of our projected landing time (8:15PM Friday evening). The officials treated us courteously and professionally. Now get this. On Friday morning, my daughter, Cherie lead a small team down to Haiti to help our intrepid Air Mobile Haiti team member, Barbara Walker. Cherie and Barbara picked us up at the airport and got us to our hotel close by the airport. We contacted the burned Haitian Pastor's son and advised him that we were awaiting his arrival and would be ready for an immediate, early morning departure. After dinner we tried to get some sleep as it would be a very short night.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63fPYczKvI/AAAAAAAAAF4/XrnnPYX5DqM/s400/02-09-08+Cherie+with+team.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165029803018103538" />

At 5:00am, Saturday morning (February 2, 2008) there was knock on our door. The Haitian Pastor, did not survive the night. He had 90% burns over his body and went on to be with the Lord just before they were going to load him for the long road trip to Port-Au-Prince to meet us. His son was distraught, but very brave. He asked us to say nothing to his mother about the death of her husband. This would be too much for her and she would resist making the flight with us to get the medical care she desperately needed. She had severe burns on her legs and arm. With sadness we made our way to the airport.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63jI4czKxI/AAAAAAAAAGI/xntZwOX-S0w/s400/02-09-08+Jody+comforting+Mdm.+Joseph.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165034089395464978" />
As we were passing into the security portion of the airport, we told Marian Joseph that her husband passed away. We immediately surrounded her with love and prayer and strongly urged her to board the aircraft to get the urgent care that she needed. She very bravely agreed to come with us. Our mission, though changed, continued on.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63ieYczKwI/AAAAAAAAAGA/Ih0QMYWD0ks/s400/2-09-08+Joe+Jody+and+Mdm.+Joseph.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165033359251024642" />

Jody and Christian cared for her in the cabin as Doug and I began the journey home. You know, the Lord gave us TAILWINDS coming down to Haiti and heading back to the U.S. We made a quick fuel stop in Exuma International in the Bahamas. We then landed in Fort Pierce, Florida at 2:00pm. The Customs officials were very helpful and understanding of our mission.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/R63jwoczKyI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/4hTaOUOJCe0/s400/2-09-08+Delivering+Mdm.+Pastor.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165034772295265058" />
After a quick flight to Orlando Executive airport, we landed at 3:45pm, we were met by Madame Joseph's daughter, Ann. After a moment of tears she too, bravely went to the airplane and helped us get her mother loaded into the awaiting van. They were soon off to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

We boarded the aircraft and headed back to Titusville airport. I thanked our team. We headed home. The mission was accomplished, though not exactly the way we wanted it to turn out. Pastor Joseph now feels no pain and is rejoicing before our Lord! Please remember his precious wife and children in your prayer.

Thank you for your love and prayer and support! Feel free to call anytime. You never know, I may be giving you a call in the middle of the night and inviting you to join us on such a mission. Stay in touch!!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - I just visited Madame Joseph on Wednesday, February 6th, after skin grafts and she is in great pain both in her heart (for the loss of her husband) as well as from the terrible wounds, but she is stong in faith and courage. Please remember her in your prayers! Joe

PPS - Stay tuned..... We have a little girl coming in from Haiti in the next couple of days to receive some critical surgery. Will tell you more about it later. Joe

Continue reading down for reports from other missions. Joe

MISSION TO HAITI ACCOMPLISHED!

December 11, 2007 3:26pm (Eastern U.S. Time) - I-95 Northbound between Fort Lauderdale and Cocoa, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston (Air Mobile Joe)

THANK YOU for praying for us! We just landed from Haiti. Ken Baker, whom you may recall travelled as a "Water Mule" to Haiti in May was with me on this remarkable mission. The reason that I could give no details is because Ken and I travelled to Haiti with a Congressional delegation. Several weeks ago, I was invited to accompany this delegation as a reporter. My dear friend, Dr. Florence Alexander knows of our deep experience in Haiti and thought it would be good to have me along. As the invitation came to me, Ken Baker walked into my office. I simply asked him if he'd like to come along as a "camera-man". He quickly agreed and thus this mission.

We did not want to give any details for security reasons. Now that the mission is over, I can tell you a bit about it. As many of you know, I'm kind of an "out of the box" kind of thinker anyway, but this trip was quite a bit out of box even for me. The most important thing is that my wife Cindy and I really prayed about it, along with Ken and his wife Ruthie. We just had the strongest impression that we should go and we did. Man, am I glad we did!!

We met some remarkable and compassionate people who really have a heart to help Haiti. We also were able to share the things that Jesus has done for us. There was a lot of interest in the Vortex Voyager water purifier. We were even able to discuss upcoming legislation on "adoptions". Our intrepid Haiti Air Mobile representative, Barbara Walker has arranged hundreds of adoptions.

There is no question that the Lord "stretched" Ken and I on this trip, but that is what walking by faith is all about. At the end of this "mission" Ken and I look back and are just amazed at how our Lord orchestrated each step of this trip. It began when we landed. The diplomatic delegation dashed off to a clinic in downtown Port-Au-Prince and it appeared we were stuck at the airport. Our rented vehicle had a snag and Barbara was there to rescue us. As it turned out, we arrived exactly on time and captured the moment The whole journey was like that. Split second timing and many open doors. We'll post some photos later. Gotta run for now. GOD BLESS and thanks again for praying for us.

Air Mobile Joe

AIR MOBILE UPDATE - "GET FREE BREVARD" A complete success! - The "Roar Tour" continues - The Air Mobile Team heading South on a "Mission"!

December 8, 2007 5:36am (Easter U.S.) - I-95 Southbound - Between Jupiter and Miami, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston (Air Mobile Joe)

My wife Cindy and I have been concerned about the terrible effects of drug abuse in our community. The death rate is very high and one day we determined that we had to do something. Thus "Get Free Brevard" GFB was born. We live in Brevard County Florida and on Saturday November 17, 2007 a wonderful event occured. Many volunteers from all walks of life stepped up and lent their hands to this effort. The result was a day of deliverence and freedom for some! GFB began at 8:00am and ended at midnight. At the end of the day, hundreds of people passed through the doors of the Air Mobile headquarters. Everything on this day was free. Goodie bags, counsel, prayer, wonderful shows including a Samoan Fire Dance and finally a free ocncert. This will not be our last GFB. At the end of the long day, Cindy and I just rejoiced that our Lord saw fit to use two broken vessels for His glory!

The "Roar Tour" continues. After the release of my first book, "Run to the Roar", we have been blessed to receive speakikng invitations from across the country. Our last opportunity occured on Tuesday, December 4th in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The occasion: The Bowling Green Annual Prayer Breakfast. Cindy and I flew in on Monday evening. Kevin Mays, the event coordinator, and a precious brother had all arranged. On Tuesday morning, we arrived at a packed house and were able to share the great, wondrous grace of our Lord to over 300 people. The Mayor sat at our table and graciously opened her beautiful city to us. Again, it's so good just sharing the love of Jesus!

Today, Ken Baker (our May "Water Mule") are heading to Haiti. The Lord has opened an unusual door of ministry for us this time. I've never had a door like this one open for us. We're very excited about it, but feel constrained to not give any details until after the mission. I ask you to lift us up for the next couple of days. I may or may not send a report from Haiti. All I can say is when the opportunity to "GO" availed itself to both Ken and I, we both felt the Lord had opened an extraordinary door. So, here we go, on a "Mission for God". THANKS for praying for us.

Air Mobile Joe

TODAY IS "GET FREE BREVARD" at Air Mobile Headquarters!!

November 17, 2007 Titusville, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston (Air Mobile Joe)

Today is an incredible event at the Air Mobile Headquarters. It's called "Get Free Brevard". It's a day dedicated to helping to fight addictions. We'll write more about this event later. Stay tuned!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - Continue reading below as we report on our latest trip into Haiti following devastating flooding there. Yesterday,we went to numerous areas of devastating flooding and saw evidence of the 2004 floods that killed thousands. Many are deeply wounded from past floods and the recent flooding from Tropical Storm Noel is devastating. Many are finding it difficult to cope. Rains are continuing to fall. As we traveled back to our village last night, we encountered pounding rains. Haiti truly needs our prayer, love and help. We're so thankful that we can do something to help!
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/RzcPwxlxMJI/AAAAAAAAAFA/9oS7pRHh-Io/s400/11-10-07+Joe%27+%26+Joe+by+coffin+in+river.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131587631031857298" />
After a grueling day of travel and near-misses, Joe and I were up until 1:00am this morning servicing water purifiers for deployment. Spent the day in Port-Au-Prince. The political atmosphere is calm. We worked well into the evening refurbishing water purifiers. Could not send out a report due to more rain. Our village was flooded. We were able to pump out quite a bit of water, but then it rained again last night.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/RzabRxlxMGI/AAAAAAAAAEo/F2uGM6Yn2qQ/s400/11-10-07+Joe%27s+download+040.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131459555107090530" />

Today, we head toward the Dominican Republic border and will be traversing a number of heavily flooded areas. We'll attempt to get a report on the situations this evening. We're blessed to have water purifiers to bring with us today. We'll help where we can. Our newest "water mule", Joe Prussell is doing great. He's learning a lot about the operation and maintenance of the water purifiers.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/RzacpBlxMHI/AAAAAAAAAEw/6k-S3Du__vc/s400/11-10-07+Joe%27s+download+156.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131461054050676850" />

THANKS again for your prayer and love!!

Air Mobile Joe

PS - You know, it's very cool to come to Haiti and work on the water purifiers. Not only does Air Mobile provide the units, we help to keep them going long after the donation. We're continually training the operators as well as analyzing the performance of the unit so that we can continually improve and upgrade it to meet the demanding needs of providing clean water where the water is very, very dirty and dangerous. This is truly a life saving outreach and at the same time affording excellent opportunities to share the love of Jesus! Will be in Haiti today. The flooding in the last few weeks have taken hundreds of lives, maybe more. The reason the number is unclear is that so many in Haiti have no identity and the areas are so isolated. Well, in a few hours we'll be on-site and will get a report back to you this evening..if we can get our internet connection.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8FOZOcdvJ1Y/RzRD8RlxMEI/AAAAAAAAAEY/5zupQjWpR2Q/s400/11-09-07a+Joe+Prussel+driving.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130800578274865218" />
I'm bringing another "water mule" on this mission, Joe Prussel. I'll tell you more about him later. We'll be servicing water purifiers previously placed in Haiti thanks to you and other generous donors. Will update this report as we get closer to departure.

In the meantime, within the last two weeks, we have had an extraordinary number of inquiries around the world regarding extreme water needs. Here's a quick list of countries: Indonesia, Guatemala, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Sierra Leone,Uganda, Russia, Bangledesh and Kenya. The list is growing everyday. Wow, the needs are just staggering.

Our restriction is funds to go! Please join us in prayer that our Lord will provide that we might GO!! Stay tuned for more reporting as we head back down to Haiti.

Air Mobile Joe

Excellent turn-out for Air Mobile Emergency Relief Briefing - The Roar Tour on the Road

September 10, 2007 - 7:03pm (Eastern U.S. time) Providence, Rhode Island - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - President - Air Mobile

Here's a very quick update from Providence, Rhode Island (TF Green International Airport). The Emergency Relief briefing conducted on September 4th at the Air Mobile headquarters was a success. A number of prospective "Water Mules" came forward and were given a first-hand demo of the Vortex Voyager. Air Mobile is following the aftermath of Hurricane Felix and the earthquake survivors very closely. We are working very diligently to get help into those regions.

As a matter of fact, I am just returning from a whirlwind speaking tour to Massachusetts and Maine. On Saturday evening (Sept. 8th) the Air Mobile team was at the End Times Church in Uxbridge, MA. What a great church! After the service, one of our prize "Water Mules" Dennis West drove me all the way to northern end of Maine (Fort Fairfield). We arrived at Pastor Mark Babbins home at 8:15AM, Sunday morning, just in time for a quick shower and right to the platform of his wonderful church, The Celebration Center. Pastor Mark asked me to share at both the morning and evening service. Dennis shared his remarkable testimony and I preached.

In just a few minutes, I'll board a flight for home. It'll be good to be home again. Meanwhile, we continue to monitor the news coming in from the disaster areas impacted by Hurricane Dean and Felix and the terrible earthquake in Peru. Stay tuned.

Air Mobile Joe

HERE WE GO AGAIN - HURRICANE FELIX WITH NICARAUGA /HONDURAS / BELIZE IN THE BULLS EYE - AIR MOBILE HAVING AN EMERGENCY RELIEF BRIEFING AT HEADQUARTERS SEPTMEBER 4TH - 6:00PM

September 3, 2007 - 7:18pm (Eastern U.S. Time) - Titusville, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - President Air Mobile Ministries (Air Mobile Joe)

Hurricane Felix is between a Category 4 / 5 storm and just exploded overnight. The target will likely be between Honduras and Belize. The atmosphere in the Caribbean is right for killer storms to spawn rapidly. Please pray for the victims in the path. Here's a brief excerpt from a story on Hurricane Felix that just came across the wires:

(AP) September 3, 2007 5:57PM Hurricane Felix seemed likely to make landfall on the Miskito Coast, an isolated area along the Honduras-Nicaragua border where thousands of Indians live in wooden shacks, get around on canoes and speak a mixture of Miskito, English, Spanish, and African languages that arose after colonization.

"There's nowhere to go here," said teacher Sodeida Rodriguez, 26.

The only path to safety is up rivers and across lakes that are too shallow for regular boats, but many lack gasoline for long journeys. Provincial health official Efrain Burgos said shelters were being prepared, and medicine and sanitation kits were being brought in, but that 18,000 people must find their own way to higher ground.

"We're asking the people who are on the coasts to find a way to safer areas, because we don't have the capability to transport so many people," he said. "The houses are made of wood. They're going to be completely swept away. They're not safe."

Air Mobile Ministries is having an Emergency Relief Briefing on September 4th, 6:00pm here at our Headquarters located at 8850 Grissom Parkway, Titusville, FL. 32780. During this meeting, we will be demonstrating the Vortex Voyager@ water purifier, the rapid deployment water purification system that Air Mobile has deployed world-wide and saved many lives.

We'll also be sharing how you can become a "Water Mule", a person who helps Air Mobile carry these devices world-wide. I've invited a couple of past "water mules" to come and share a bit about their experiences.

During the past 2 weeks, we've had Hurricane Dean, a devastating 8.0 earthquake in Peru (the equivalent of 790 nuclear bombs!!) and now Hurricane Felix. If there is ever a time to think "Emergency Relief / Preparedness" it is now. I hope that you can make the meeting. If you need directions or have questions please contact us at: 321-267-7726 or e-mail us: joehurston@airmobile.org.

Stay tuned for more details. Air Mobile is preparing Vortex Voyagers at this time for immediate deployment. Yesterday, we were contacted by medical personnel wanting to go into Peru following the 8.0 earthquake. Water is desperately needed.

Meanwhile, Kingston, Jamaica is right in the bulls eye of Hurricane Dean (the worst Hurricane in Jamaica's recorded history). Things are happening very quickly. Air Mobile is gearing up to go. We need your prayer, financial support and "Water Mules". Read the story below of our last Haiti deployment to find out what "Water mules" do. Please contact me if you would like to help. MORE CLEAN WATER IN JESUS NAME!

August 11, 2007 Saturday 10:11am - Cocoa, FL - Reported by Joe Hurston

Here's our report from our latest deployment to Haiti. Our team arrived in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti on Friday morning, July 27th and just breezed through customs with 12 water purifiers! We certainly prayed and the Lord gave us immediate favor. This saved our team a lot of time.

Our latest "water mule" (a "water mule" is a Volunteer who helps us carry in water purifiers), Tom Franco has been up to the task. After very short notice, Tom jumped right in, booked his ticket and the next thing he knew, he was in Haiti helping us bring water to very, very needy people!

The political situation here in Haiti is calm for the moment, though reports state that there has been a sharp increase in lynchings. The latest incident just occurred. A couple of men were traveling to a wedding and were mistakenly identified as bad guys and were brutally murdered.

On the other hand, things have been quite calm and we've been able to move about the country with ease. Tom and I were on the road for Miami on Friday morning very early and flew out for Haiti at 7:05am. After our quick passage through customs we headed into town with our intrepid Air Mobile water coordinator, Barbara Walker. In addition to invaluable help with the water purification project, Barb does a miraculous job of finding homes for desperate Haitian orphans. We whirled around Port-Au-Prince and took care of dozens of tasks related to these adoptions.

We arrived in our village and began repairing and servicing water purifiers. Tom is a great help. By 9:00pm Friday evening, we had 4 of the 5 units needing service repaired. Finally after going nearly 42 hours without sleep, we crashed.

We were up early Saturday morning, repaired one more unit. Then it was off for a deployment. The missionary who received the unit was just blown away that we would show up and just give them this incredible gift. It's such a blessing to do this!

Then up the mountain for another couple of repairs. At our last location, God's Little Angels Orphanage, we were told again, what a blessing the purifiers have been. The sickness has dropped dramatically with the children. They run the purifiers everyday and have for the last year.

We headed back to our Village. This is village that Barbara built for the care of her orphans that are being cared for before their adoptions are complete. This place is amazing. I could fill a book telling of the work that Barb has done here. That's for another report. Tom was really touched by the stories and miraculous stories of grace and favor upon these children.

On Sunday morning we headed to Grace Children's Hospital to visit little Bryce. This little one has TB and is very ill. Barb has arranged for him to be adopted. We stopped in to see how he was doing. Bryce needs your prayer as he's fighting for life. This is the kind of things that our dear Barb does to save the desperate. By the way, Grace Children's Hospital has a water purifier.

We are able to do this because of the extreme generosity of Harris Rosen and the Rosen Foundation. Harris has been touched by the suffering in Haiti and has helped Air Mobile put these units there. To date, with the 12 units that we just brought in, we have had the wonderful privilege to place 217 purifiers in Haiti. That is a lot of clean water.

Many of you have stood so faithfully with us. Though the Rosen Foundation provides the purifiers, your gifts and prayer have given us the added resources necessary to both deploy and maintain these units.

Later Sunday afternoon we headed to the airport and caught the afternoon flight back to Miami. About 3:00am on Monday morning I arrived home. Wow, what a wonderful, intense, tiring rewarding 72 hours! Want to be a "Water Mule"? Would love to hear from you! Thanks again for your love and support!

Air Mobile Joe

MASSIVE UK FLOODING - ENROUTE TO HAITI - AIR MOBILE ON THE MOVE!

July 25, 2007 - Wednesday - 2:21pm (Eastern Time) - Titusville, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston (Air Mobile Joe)

Air Mobile is monitoring the terrible flooding in the UK. These are certainly perilous times!

An Air Mobile Team is preparing to depart for Haiti in the very near future. This is just a brief note and a request for your prayer as we plan to launch another mission. Will write more later!

Air Mobile Joe!

UPDATES ON - GLOBAL HEALTH AWARD, GRADUATIONS, A BRIEF GET-A-WAY (with a crashing fan) AND A CAR FIRE!

June 23, 2007 - Sunday - 10:13pm (Eastern Time) - Cocoa, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston (Air Mobile Joe)

Since our last report, Cindy, Peter and I traveled to Washington,DC as nominees for the Bill Gates Global Health Award. As you may gather, we did not win. However, being a nominee was an honor. We did meet the winner and does he have an interesting story, but I'll not share it here.

I'd like to tell you that we're pleased to announce that Angelica, our 18 year old daughter, graduated with honors from High School and is on her way to Palm Beach Atlantic University to study International Nursing. Our 14 year old daughter, Juliet Joy graduated the 8th grade and is enroute to High School. We're very proud of our daughters.

In late April, our other daughter, Cherie headed to Africa with Overland Mission for an intensive Mission Training that will last nearly 6 months. We're so pleased at how or Lord is using Cherie. We really miss her around here.

Last week, Cindy, Angelica, Juliet, Peter and I slipped down to Jamaica for a couple of days of rest and relaxation. It's been nearly 2 years since we've taken a break and this one was really needed. On our second day, while sitting in a lovely restaurant having lunch, we were startled by a loud crash. Just 2 feet from our table a large ceiling fan fell and hit two guests right next to us.

Instantly, Cindy leaped to the aid of the lady who took a direct hit with the motor of the fan. I ran to her husband who was also struck in the head by the fan. There was blood everywhere. We tended to their wounds until medical help arrived. We prayed for the two injured guests and endeavored to return to our vacation, however, we were quite shaken by it all. I'm just glad that we could be there to help in their moment of need. I also thank the Lord for putting right where we were.

Cindy and I have been chaplains at a psychiatric hospital for nearly 10 years. Today, we went and ministered to the young people there. The service was great. Our Lord moved so sweetly. Afterward, Cindy and I stopped for a cup of coffee and a snack. When we got back into our car, an electrical fire broke out. Within seconds we had the flames extinguished. The fire was no big deal, I simply mentioned it to add a little flavor to the headlines. But really, we're thankful that there were no injuries. Our insurance will take care of the damages.

You know, as we walk through this life, stuff happens. Jesus said in John 16:33, "In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world". The message that comes to me again and again is, "I will never leave you or forsake you". My friend, as you read this, open your heart to Jesus. He loves you and cares for you. He'll help you navigate through this world.

In early July, we're heading back to Haiti with more water purifiers. What a joy to bring clean water to the thirsty. I haven't selected any water mules yet for this upcoming mission. Want to come? Oh, to find out what a water mule is, continue reading below for our report on our last Mission to Haiti. I really bare my soul in this one. It's just "One Orphanage Deployment", but there is a lot of insight in it. Hope you enjoy it. Here goes....

On Saturday morning (May 12, 2007) Dennis West (one of our faithful Air Mobile "water mules") and I were up before sunrise packing our bags. We headed out early for a couple of water purifier deployments before departing on the afternoon flight from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to Miami.

I've been doing this kind of work for nearly 30 years and have visited hundreds of orphanages and seen a lot of operations. Walking through the gate brought out the kids dressed in ragged clothes with shy smiles. The initial assessment was not good. Broken stoves, old hospital gurneys, pump pieces all scattered throughout the compound. Obviously these folks don't take care of their stuff.

My logical thinking; how could I leave a water purifier in such a place?. The conclusion; we won't. Within 10 minutes, after snapping a few shots to justify the "reject" decision I was back in the truck waiting for Barbara (our Haitian / Caribbean Water Purifier Director). She asked "Well, what do you think?" My quick answer "Reject".

Now, Barbara Walker has worked with my wife Cindy and I for over 13 years. I've learned to respect Barb's wisdom. I quickly told her my reasoning and her answer stopped me dead in my tracks. "That's the very reason we need to help them - the kids need clean water".

Suddenly, I remembered the last shot I took before heading back to the truck. It was of a little girl. I saw the photo in my mind. The little one was around 2 years old. She stood at the entrance to the "hovel" of the living quarters of the orphanage. There she stood, just looking up at me. Her eyes said to me, "Please don't leave, we need your help". All of my logic left me and my heart began to melt. The Lord began to speak to me about "The least of these" (Matthew 25). Barb just stood there looking at me.

My answer was, "Well, let's do it". Soon we were heading back into the little compound. This time, I noticed how green things were. The working well was gushing out water. Walking over to inspect it, I noted that small drainage channel that directed all unused water into the lush garden. Every inch of soil was growing something. Orange trees, corn, mangoes, squash, greens. Obviously, the Lord had blessed the soil as there was food growing everywhere.

Upon closer inspection of the broken and dilapidated equipment, my mind was more clear. Of course, people usually donated old and broken stuff to missions. Half the stuff when received barely works if at all.

Working my way back to where Barb was setting up the training, I met the director of the orphanage. I knew in my heart this was a Godly lady. Barb had told me earlier that she lived here with the children. That was a very good sign. As we worked our way by the outdoor kitchen and into the "home" we passed the director's bed. It was right in the middle of the living area. Next to her single, neatly made bed was a little crib. Remember the little girl that I had photographed earlier? Well that was where she slept. She was the youngest little orphan in the orphanage.

All of the other kids doted on her. They gently held her and spoke to her in quiet and loving tones. This was not a show, it was the real thing. Now folks, as I said earlier, "This was not my first rodeo". I've seen plenty of orphan operations and many, many scams designed to simply raise money. Now, my heart told me that this was not a scam.

As Barb did her simple effective teaching, the young staff took careful notes and asked excellent questions. They were really paying attention. It dawned on me that this orphanage had likely not received a "new" anything in a long time; if ever. As Barb taught, I watched the kids. The older ones were caring and loving the young ones. This lady, the director, had done her "homework". Her heart of love and care had been transmitted to these kids.

Yeah, Barb was right, this place really needed help and our Lord Jesus had sent us there to fulfill His mission. Again, Matthew 25, Jesus tells us, "I was hungry, thirsty, naked and you gave Me food, water and clothes". This is the Gospel, caring for the needy and loving them. It was a joy to present number 501 to the Tabarre Orphanage. By the way, after just a few minutes of running the well water through the water purifier, the filter was filthy. We were right on time!

As we packed up and left the little orphanage in Tabarre, my heart was "tenderized" by Jesus. You know, in life, it's so easy to make snap judgments and assessments. Thank God that Jesus does not do that with us!! Thought, I'd share this little story with you.

Want to come sometime? We always have need of "water mules" for Jesus. Contact us if you have any questions. We are so appreciative for your love, prayer and support. Your gifts go far and deep in helping us to spread the Gospel of Jesus!! Remember, it would be a pleasure to come and share with your church or group. I'd love to hear from you. Until next mission. God Bless You!!

Sincerely:

Air Mobile Joe
(Joe Hurston - President - Air Mobile Ministries

PS - I just heard from Barbara Walker. She and another missionary revisited the Tabarre orphanage on Thursday (May 17th) and brought some beautiful dresses for the little girls and clothes for the boys. They also arranged for some more food to be delivered on a regular basis. They're even working on a mission team to come in and clean up the mess do some much needed building repair. Now, that's the "Body of Christ" in Action!

As I write this update, Cindy and I along with Peter (our soon to be 10 year old son) are preparing to fly to Washington DC for the Bill Gates Global Health Award. Air Mobile Ministries has been nominated and we are blessed and hopeful. Thank you again for your love and support!! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Heading home after a successful mission. Water purifiers have been repaired and deployed. There was one orphanage that we visited today that I must tell you about, but not tonight. There was one little girl that just melted my heart.

Dennis (the faithful "water mule" and I are winging Northbound on I-95 heading for home. It's been a tough couple of days (swarms of mosquitoes, pools of sweat, horrible traffic, difficult Customs officials) but.... rewarding beyond words. In the next day or so, after cleaning up and a good nights sleep, I'll put together a cool photo essay of just one orphanage deployment. I hope it blesses you. So for now, this concludes the "running journal" report of this Haiti mission. Be looking for the in-depth deployment report soon.

THANK YOU for your prayer, love and support. You are such a vital team member. Remember, we're always looking for "water mules" for Jesus.

Sincerely:

Joe Hurston (Alias "Air Mobile Joe")

May 11, 2007 Friday 8:42am, Haiti - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - NOTE: Be sure to continue reading down to see how this cool mission has been unfolding!

PRAISE GOD! A quick update from yesterday (May 10, 2007) - after nearly 5 hours of patient waiting and prayer, the water purifiers were released from Customs (Douane)! THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYER!! Now, we can get to work on tune-ups and deployments.

With parts and supplies, Dennis and I have been able to get 6 purifiers back up into service. It's very encouraging to see how well the units are performing. Most of our work has been simply changing filters and simple tune-ups. The Haitian recipients are handling the units well and we're encountering only minor needs in the area of added training. To date, we have been able to deliver 206 purifiers into Haiti! Wow, that's producing a lot of clean water all over the country.

Again, none of this would be possible without the help of generous supporters and friends!! We're on our way to the capital now, so I have to run. Will write more when the opportunity presents itself. THANKS AGAIN!!

Joe

May 10, 2007 - Thursday 7:08am - Haiti - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - Air Mobile

Here's a quick update from "the field". We landed at Port-Au-Prince International (Wednesday, May 09, 2007). Customs (Douane) seized all but 2 of the water purifiers. We have been through this before. This is working for the good because this time, we're going to work very hard to get firm documentation that will allow future shipments to pass quickly and FREELY! This is not an easy thing to do, but we believe that the Lord is on our side. We meet this morning with the head of Customs at 10:00am. PLEASE PRAY!

Other than that all is going well. Haiti was actually a bit cool upon landing (76 degrees). The political climate is calm for the moment and for that we're thankful.

When we arrived in the village later than usual due to our hours of discussions with customs, we had a good number of purifiers that need "tune-ups". The problem is, customs has all our tools and extra parts. Still we managed to get one unit up and going. After starting our day at 2:30am, by 10:00pm, Dennis and I were beat. Long day!

This morning Dennis got up and set up a badminton set for the kids in the village. He's like a big kid himself. Well, it's time to grab a bite to eat and head to town and work out something with Customs. Again, please remember to pray for us.

Continue reading on down to see how this mission is coming together. Gotta run!

Air Mobile Joe

AIR MOBILE TEAM HEADING SOUTH.....

May 9, 2007 - Wednesday 4:14am (Eastern Time) - Heading South on I-95 - Report submitted by Air Mobile Joe

Well, the Air Mobile Team is headed south (not in the metaphorical sense)- we're on another mission for God! Soon we'll be in the Caribbean bringing clean water to those in need. It's a little after 4:00am and our faithful "water mule", Dennis is the captain of this truck. Next stop, Miami.

By noon today, we'll be "in the field" and on the mission. This sure is exciting to be used by the Lord in this way. It's also very cool to have a "wireless" card in my computer so that I can send little "snippet" reports while enroute. Any prospective "water mules" can get a sense of the "mission" by following the blog.

We've been up since 2:30am and will not likely sleep until late this evening. The political situation where we're going has been relatively calm for the last 2 weeks. We're very thankful. Please remember us in your prayer as you go throughout the day.

The generator in our village recently died. Barbara Walker, our intrepid Caribbean Team member has been patching current together with a series of back-up to the back-up generators, along with a series of batteries and an inverter. There has not been regular electricity from the government for over 2 weeks. We're hoping to have enough current to get the purifiers that need service up and going. If you'd like to contribute to the generator fund, I can tell you, it's a very good investment.

I'd better wrap up this for now. God Bless and THANKS FOR TUNING IN TO "AIR MOBILE JOE'S EDITORIAL. Please continue reading down to see how this mission has gotten to this point.

Joe

AIR MOBILE HEADING BACK TO HAITI VERY, VERY SOON WITH CLEAN WATER!!

May 8, 2007 - Tuesday 10:42am (Eastern Time) - Titusville, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - President - Air Mobile (Be sure to continue reading down for the unfolding story including the "Bill Gates Global Health Award")

Soon and very soon my good friend and "water mule" (a water mule is one who helps transport water)" Dennis West will be heading back to Haiti. This time, we'll bring in 12 Water Purifiers. You know, I was thinking about what these 12 units will do. As you may know, to date, we have brought in 192 purifiers to Haiti (THANKS TO THE HARRIS ROSEN FOUNDATION & FRIENDS LIKE YOU!!). Those units are producing a lot of clean water all over the country. They are in schools, orphanages, clinics, hospitals and with various other relief organizations. There is no question in my mind that these units have, are and will save lives!! That is so cool!!

By the way, as I write this report, the water purifiers are being built as I type. I truly appreciate our excellent staff that work so hard to help bring clean water around the world!

Now, EACH one of these 12 units that we're bringing in will produce between 20-24 gallons of VERY CLEAN water every hour. That equates to 240 - 280 gallons every hour that the 12 units are operating. After extensive study and experience world-wide, it is believed that if a person receives approximately 2 liters of clean drinking water per day (approximately 1/2 gallon) their health will dramatically improve!! That means that this mission will bring clean water to about 500 people per hour for every hour that the 12 units operate!!

These units are already assigned. Barbara Walker, our Air Mobile Haiti coordinator (Barbara works with us world-wide) has already found homes for these units. As I write this to you, it continually dawns on me, just how close to the heart of Jesus this project is! Our Lord speaks so highly of our bringing water to thirsty and desperate people in His name. This is such a clear mandate in the Gospel. In Matthew 25, Jesus says again, "that if we give a cup of water to the least of these (those that are desperate), it's the same as giving it to Him"! Wow, what a mission.

Of course, Dennis and I along with our Haitian staff will be repairing and overhauling any units that need work. It's very important that we keep these units working. They have truly proven to be "LIFE SAVING DEVICES".

Please remember to pray for Dennis and I and our Haiti team as we embark on another "Mission for Jesus"! I'll be speaking in a number of locations including 2 radio interviews. The theme: RUN TO THE ROAR! This is a message I never tire of sharing. Besides, each time I have the privilege to share this message, my own heart is strengthened.

Sometime in early May, the Air Mobile Team will be heading back to Haiti to bring in more clean water to the suffering and sharing the incredible Good News of Jesus. Continue reading on for a report on our last mission to Haiti.

REPORT FROM THE LAST HAITI MISSION (ACCOMPLISHED!!)

The Air Mobile team is back from Haiti and again, "Mission Accomplished". This time we were able to bring in 12 more water purification systems and do strategic repairs to keep water flowing into some very needy areas. More on that report later.

We are pleased to announce that Air Mobile Ministries has been nominated for "The 2007 Bill Gates Global Health Award". Cindy and I will travel to Washington, DC on May 28, 2007 for the Award Presentation. There are many worthy Nominees and Air Mobile is truly humbled to be named among them. We are blessed that folks like Bill Gates see the need for Global Health and put their resources into saving lives.

You may go to http://www.globalhealth.org/conference/view_top.php3?id=656 for more details.

Air Mobile was pleased to have Ken Baker, our newest Air Mobile Team member on this last trip into Haiti. Ken and departed for Miami early Sunday morning, April 1, 2007. We boarded American Airlines with a full load of water purification systems. We would like to give special THANKS to American Airlines for allowing us to carry additional bags on-board. The staff at the Miami station know that we are carrying precious cargo that saves lives!

Upon landing, Barbara Walker met us and we were off to the "Village" to do maintenance on 5 water purifiers. Soon they were all up and going. We were particularly blessed to have electricity all through the night. This was Ken's first trip into Haiti and this unusual occurrence of all night current must have been in honor of this first trip.

For those who have never visited Haiti, ELECTRICITY is scarce. In other words, most of Haiti is without electricity at all. It is truly a rare and wonderful event when there's current all night. Well, after a pleasant nights sleep (with the fan running all night), we were up and headed to town bright and early.

On this mission, we were joined by Mr. Harris Rosen's representatives to help plan our strategy for deployments. Without going into a great deal of detail for security reasons, we were able to have excellent meetings with the Department of Social Affairs. We were able to coordinate the planning for the distribution into many orphanages throughout Haiti in the future.

In our last report, I explained by the Harris Rosen Foundation has funded now 192 Vortex Voyager water purification systems into Haiti. This is such a blessing to so many.

We were also able to help load rice for Barbara's village. This rice was a gift from "Food for the Poor", a tremendous organization that feeds millions around the world.

Monday, April 2, 2007 was Barbara Walker's birthday. After many meetings throughout Port-Au-Prince, our team headed north on Haiti's Route National 1 to a great restaurant on the ocean, the Wahoo Bay Restaurant. We endeavored to finish our meal quickly so that we would not be driving at night as the roads are very dangerous. Though the sun had set, we carefully made our way back to the village and thanked the Lord for His protection.

After checking the world news on April 2nd, we discovered the tragic news of the 8.1 earthquake that caused the tsunami in the Solomon Islands. We immediately prayed knowing all too well the terrible destruction of a tsunami. We later learned that the wall of water was nearly 30 feet high in certain areas. Air Mobile is following the events very closely and seeking direction as to what to do.

We were up early on April 3rd and heading into town for more strategic meetings on deployments. We then headed to the airport and boarded the afternoon flight headed back to Miami. Then the long drive back to Cocoa, Florida. A quick and productive trip to Haiti. We repaired water purifiers and brought in 12 more. All without a scratch (and for that, we're thankful to the Lord). Ken and I had a wonderful time of fellowship. I suspect he'll join me on another trip. Maybe the next one will not be quite such a "whirlwind".

Since Air Mobile is going into Haiti on a monthly (sometimes more frequently), perhaps you would like to join us on a mission. If so, simply write me at: joehurston@airmobile.org or give us a call at: 321-267-7726.

Thanks for reading "Air Mobile Joe's Editorial". Successful Mission! and....HEADING BACK SOON!! - AIR MOBILE IS FOLLOWING THE TSUNAMI IN THE PACIFIC - STANDING BY....

April 3, 2007 - Tuesday 5:32AM - In the Caribbean - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - President - Air Mobile Ministries

I'm leading an Air Mobile team at this time and writing from the "field". We are following the huge earthquake (8.0) that struck near the Solomon Islands yesterday. As developments unfold, Air Mobile Ministries will see if we can help. Stay tuned. Meanwhile........

Welcome to Air Mobile Joe's Editorial. Recently returned from Haiti and here's a quick update. The main thrust of this last Air Mobile mission was to repair broken water purifiers. To date, we've had the wonderful privilege to place 180+ water purifiers in Haiti. That produces a lot of clean water. But like anything, things BREAK. It was vital that we get these purifiers up and working! My good friend Dennis West joined me on this important mission.

By the way, most of these 180+ units have been funded by The Harris Rosen Foundation. Harris Rosen has a heart to help the Haitian people. We praise God for Harris and his great compassion! He has inspired many others to join together with us on this noble mission.

We landed in Haiti Sunday, March 4, 2007. Barbara Walker picked us up and brought us straight to her "Village". There, among many precious children, were 26 broken or worn water purifiers. Barbara's village is the depot for all of the inoperative water purifiers that we have brought in to date. We began working on them immediately. We worked until late Sunday evening.

On Monday morning at sunrise, Dennis and I were at it, unit by unit, we repaired them. We worked well into the evening. On Tuesday morning, back up early and put the final touches on 22 of the 26 units. We just ran out of parts.

This mission was very specific and fast moving. In a couple of weeks, we'll return with more purifiers and the parts to get the other 4 units up and working.

Now, one may ask, what does that have to do with preaching the Gospel of Jesus? Everything! Jesus said that if we give a cup of water in His name, we give it to Him. Wow. What a blessed way to be used by our Lord.

Did you know that the number one cause of sickness world-wide is WATER-BORNE disease. When we clean up the water, we do a lot. That's the reason Air Mobile travels the world and endeavors to bring clean water to thirsty and sick people. We have a big job. It's really great to see the health of whole villages dramatically improve with the introduction of clean water. This act of kindness opens so many doors to tell people about Jesus and His love!

On Tuesday morning, March 6th, we packed our bags and the defective parts. However, we had to take a final shot of a couple of the kids in Barb's village. We then headed to an orphanage with 54 children and deployed a water purifier. Then we went right through the exact same area that we were attacked a year ago. We drove through some pretty intense areas and I must admit our prayers ratcheted up a bit. We then went to another very large orphanage with over 100 children. The Director of the orphanage was so excited about the purifier. He's responsible for a number of other orphanages and wants more for the other facilities. We then headed to the airport and flew back to Miami.

I just wanted to give a quick snap-shot of a cool mission to a dangerous and desperate country. As you know, know, we don't publish our travel itinerary to Haiti for Security reasons. The bad guys read blogs and reports. We don't want to give them advance warning of our coming. In that way, we get in and get out quickly and safely. The Lord gives us wisdom and His protection! PLEASE PRAY for us as we are heading back to Haiti in the very, very near future!!

The "Roar Tour" continues. Saturday morning (March 17, 2007) I was back at Sabbath Grace Fellowship in Apopka, Florida, pastored by Terry Pooler. It was great being with this wonderful church again. I was able to deliver "The Rest of the Story" of Run to the Roar. Dennis West joined me on this mission. I also ran into my dear friend Barry Millet. Barry lives in Texas, but happened to be just a few miles from Sabbath Grace and joined us for service.

I just received a couple of free tickets on Southwest Airlines from my dear friends and fellow partners in the mission, Brian and Michelle Ridgeway. Those tickets will be used to send me out on the "Tour". I'll let you know where we'll be next.

Do you remember the devastating tornadoes that hit Central Florida last month? I wrote about Scott Bush, the brother with the motorcycle ministry. Scott contacted me the day of the tornadoes and asked to borrow a Vortex Voyager water purifier to bring to the disaster area. Well he did. By the time he got there, there was plenty of water, so the Voyager was not deployed. Praise God it was there if they had needed it.

Well, Scott came up with this creative idea for presenting the Gospel of Jesus at Bike Week in Daytona. He got this big fish tank, with fish and all and pumped water through the purifier and passed out free water. He put a big sign asking, "WOULD YOU DRINK THIS WATER?"

It was a great hit. He put neat Gospel Messages behind the fish tank, so that when folks took a closer look, they got the Gospel. Bravo to Scott for his God-given ingenuity and his heart for souls and also his quick responsiveness to those in need. By the way, his ministry is purchasing a Vortex Voyager so that they will have one on hand for deployment in a moment's notice.

Don't forget to get the May Issue of Charisma Magazine. There will be an article on Air Mobile Ministries. By the way, when you support Air Mobile, you save lives and souls! We truly appreciate your love and support. Better run for now. After reaching a peak of 450,000 evacuations due to the worst flooding in recent memory, the people are returning home to devastation and disease. The hospitals are overflowing with water-borne disease. A recent report stated that nearly 200,000 are ill due to water-borne diseases! We continue to follow the events that are unfolding and are praying about ways that we can help. We are in touch with several ministries in Indonesia that have Vortex Voyagers and we're supporting their efforts with technical support.

In the meantime, we are heading back to Haiti. As is our method, we do not publish our exact travel dates to Haiti. The reason is strictly for security purposes. It was one year ago (February 13, 2006) that our Air Mobile Team was brutally attacked, robbed and by God's Amazing Grace, escaped being kidnapped. Rampant gang violence continues to plague the country. Relief workers and missionaries are prime targets of gang type attacks.

If you would like to read the actual e-mail that I sent to my dear wife, Cindy immediately after the attack - Go to: http://febhaititrip.blogspot.com/. The story of God's amazing power to deliver and His protection are so evident in the detailed accounts that I sent to Cindy and my daughter, Cherie.

After the brutal attack in Haiti, we continued on with our mission and accomplished our goals of bringing clean water and "The Living Water" of the Gospel of Jesus to suffering and desperate people in Haiti. After returning from Haiti to the U.S. we were back in Haiti continuing our work within the month. Many people asked me why I returned after such a brutal attack. My answer was simple - we experienced God's miraculous delivering power first-hand (again!!). Jesus never promised us a "Rose Garden", but He does promise to always be with us and never leave us nor forsake us. Our mission is to preach the Gospel and bring help to the suffering.

Please remember us in your prayer as we travel back to Haiti. Your prayers do so much for us.

THE ROAR TOUR ROARS ON! On Saturday morning (Feburary 17, 2007), I had the incredible experience to speak in a church in Apopka, FL. My good friend, fellow pilot and film maker, Doug Rodante, who has traveled the world with Air Mobile, graciously arranged for me to speak at Sabbath Grace Fellowship (SGF) pastored by Terry Pooler. What a precious people! After service, Pastor Pooler and I discussed the possibility of my returning and sharing "The Rest of the Story"!! Really look forward to being with the folks at SGF again!!

On Saturday, February 24, 2007, I spoke at a Men's Breakfast at the Great Outdoors Church here in Titusville. My good friend, David Murton arranged this meeting. What a wonderful group of men. We had a great time.

The following Saturday, March 3, 2007, I'll be speaking at the Christmas Church of God in Chrismas, FL. Our dear friends, Dennis and Barbara West arranged for this meeting. It will be good to be with Pastor Steve Lee again.

I just spoke with Pastor Terry Pooler of the Sabbath Grace Fellowship (remember, I was just there on February 17th). Pastor Pooler asked me to return on March 17, 2007 for "THE REST OF THE STORY". It will be such a joy to return to sweet fellowship and lift up the Name of Jesus!

Be sure to pick a copy of the April issue of Charisma Magazine. There will be an article written about Air Mobile Ministries and our book, "Run to the Roar".

As always, feel free to contact us anytime if you have any questions or would like us to come and speak to your group. God Bless and thanks again for visiting Air Mobile Joe's Editorial.

Sincerely:

Joe Hurston
President - Air Mobile Ministries
<br CENTRAL FLORIDA - TERRIBLE FLOODING IN INDONESIA (350,000 HOMELESS - DEATH-TOLL RISING!) AND AN AMAZING RESCUE!
February 14, 2007 - Wednesday - 5:31PM - Titusville, FL (Eastern Time U.S.) - Report submitted by Joe Hurston

Thank you for coming to the Air Mobile Joe's Editorial. Before I give you an update on George Spee, the missionary that we rescued off of Eleuthera Island (Bahamas) earlier this week, here's a quick update on some in our area and around the world. On Friday morning, killer tornados struck our area of Central Florida. The deathtoll is currently 20 with many injured and massive destruction.

As we were beginning our plans to deploy to the area of destruction, another ministry headed by Scott Bush, a National Assembly of God Motor Ministry Chaplain contacted us. Scott asked to buy a Vortex VoyagerTM water purifier to bring fresh water to the affected region. Within an hour of contact, Air Mobile instead loaned a unit to Scott and trained him. He's been working in that region since Friday afternoon (February 2, 2007). Our Lord knows how to deploy HIS troops RAPIDLY!

REPORT FROM INDONESIA - February 5, 2007 7:34AM -By IRWAN FIRDAUS, Associated Press
"We fear that diarrhea and dysentery may break out, as well as illnesses spread by rats," Dr. Rustam Pakaya, from the health ministry's crisis center. "People must be careful not to drink dirty water."
Since early Saturday morning (Feb. 3, 2007) news has been coming to us from Indonesia. Terrible flooding has occured in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and over 350,000 are homeless. We have contacted several mission organizations in that area and we're monitoring the situation very closely. We just received word that Vortex Voyagers TM that had been previously deployed in Indonesia are arrving into the disaster area. There is currently still a lot of rain falling and will likely continue for another week! THE DEATH-TOLL IS RISING! This situation could become very deadly! Please remember to pray for both regions (Central Florida and Indonesia). Your prayers do so much!! Now, on to the report on our beloved friend, George Spee.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!
Praise God! I spoke with George on Sunday afternoon (February 4, 2007) and he is recovering remarkably well after being released from the hospital! After extensive tests and a remarkable turn-around in blood levels he is now at his daughter, Ana's home in Melbourne, FL. Again, you all have been so precious to pray with us through this critical situation. Both George and his precious wife, Jean, wanted me to tell you all how grateful they are for your prayer and love. Now, here's how things unfolded on this amazing rescue!

George made it!! I landed N231HN (The Mooney 231) at 8:45am in Rock Sound, Bahamas on Tuesday morning, January 30, 2007. The Bahamaian Customs officials greeted me very cordially and cleared me quickly. Once through, I found George and Jean anxiously awaiting me. George was weak, but for the first time since his accident, he was able to sit. The Lord truly infused strength into him for the flight.

We carefully lifted George into the co-pilot seat and off for Fort Pierce at 9:35am . Everything went like clockwork, though the flight wore heavily on George. As I flew the plane, I prayed continually for George. As I climbed to cruising altitude, I monitored George's breathing to be sure he could handle it.

Upon landing at Fort Pierce at 11:45am (a 2 hour, 10 minute flight), the Customs officials were expecting us and we didn't need to bring George in. The officer came out to us. The Customs staff treated us with great courtesy and care, knowing the situation with George. It was with such joy to lift this veteran Amabassador of the Cross into the awaiting mini-van. Ana, his daughter was so glad to have her father back in the U.S.

George is far from out of the woods so I urge you to continue to pray for him. Personally, I can't tell you the joy that I've experienced just being part of this rescue. Each of you have joined together with us.

Immediately after sending out the notice to pray, e-mails came in from Haiti, Pakistan, Indonesia as well as from across the U.S. I praise God for this wonderful tool called e-mail! It is a powerful instrument to mobilize prayer quickly!

Oh, I must tell you, the Bahamians called George the "Honorary Governor of Eleuthera Island". This precious man and his wife have planted so many seeds. It's such a joy to be part of the PAYBACK for all the wonderful things he and Jean have done for so many.

Again, thank you for praying for us on this incredible mission!

Joe

AN URGENT CALL FROM A DISTRESSED DAUGHTER!

January 29, 2007, Monday 9:20pm - Cocoa, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston

On Sunday afternoon, January 28, 2007, Ana called me about her dad, George Spee. George had fallen and had what may be serious internal injuries. The problem is that George is in Tarpom Bay, Eleuthera in the Bahama Islands. I know exactly where George lives. You see, over the years, George and his lovely wife, Jean have helped Air Mobile Ministries conduct Crusades all throughout the Bahamas. I have never worked with anyone that coordinates so well. George is a master tactician for Jesus! He has bailed me out of a thousand jams.

Now, I have an opportunity to rescue George. All day Sunday, I was in touch with Jean, his daughter Ana and the attending Doctor on Eleuthera. They do not have X-Ray and George needs an MRI. George was not doing well at all. We must fly him out, but can his body stand the shock of travel? The Doctor put him on in IV fluid drip and we waited and prayed to see if his body would bounce back enough for the flight. Last night, the Doctor called me and advised against a flight today (Monday). We prayed all day and by this afternoon, George was gaining enough strength to sit up. We all agreed it was time to get George out. So.....

Tomorrow morning, in just a little over 6 hours, I'll get up and drive down to Stuart, Florida and borrow my good friend's (Marlin Moudy - you can read about him in my book) Mooney 231, a very fast, turbo-charged airplane. If all goes well, we'll be back in Fort Pierce, Florida by 11:15am. Ana will meet us and rush him to the hospital. PLEASE remember George in your prayer. Pray that the flight go smoothly. Well, I'd better get to bed and get some sleep.

Thanks again for standing with us!!

Joe Hurston
President - Air Mobile Ministries

HERE COMES THE ROAR TOUR!!

January 27, 2007 - Saturday - 11:21pm - Titusville, FL (Report submitted by Joe Hurston)

Thank you for coming to Air Mobile Joe's Editorial! As always, Air Mobile is standing by, ready to deploy to the next world disaster. We'll also be returning to Haiti in the near future to bring in life-saving, clean water to desperate people. Due to security reasons, our reports on and from Haiti will be limited. As you scroll down on this link, you will get to the Report from Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. Now, to the "ROAR TOUR"!

We have launched the "Roar Tour"! After writing the book, "Run to the Roar", it only made sense to travel across this great country and encourage folks to "Run to the Roar". In other words, don't run from the problems that occur in all of our lives. Run right at them with the Lord and you'll overcome them!

On New Year's Eve, my wife, Cindy, and I were in Millbury, MA launching "The Roar Tour". Our good friend and pastor of the "The Chapel at the Mill", Ernie White invited me to come and speak to his congregation. What a wonderful way to start a mission. Ernie White is very special to us, as he was the one who introduced Cindy to the Lord over 30 years ago. We also had the privilege to bring in the New Year by counting down the seconds to 2007! A special THANKS to Brian and Michelle Ridgeway and Southwest Airlines for getting me up to MA for the Launch of the Roar Tour!!

On Sunday, January 14, 2007, we were at the Indian River Presbyterian Church in Fort Pierce, FL. What a great church! Martha Van Cise (the Co-Author of Run to the Roar) joined me and we signed many books. It was such a joy to preach to this great congregation!

This past Sunday, January 21, 2007, Cindy and I were at University Behavorial Center in Orlando, FL. We've been Chaplains there for over 9 years. It was so cool sharing lion stories, miraculous rescues, near misses and great escapes with the patients there.

This past week, I visited with a Native American, Ray Thunderhawk. Listen to this! Ray is the head of Thunderhawk's Big Cat Rescue. His organization is based in our neighborhood. He has 66 big cats, i.e. lions, tigers, panthers, cougars etc. less than a half mile from my home. We often hear the lions and tigers roaring. It's awesome! Of course, I gave Ray a signed copy of "Run to the Roar". We discussed many aspects of the nature of lions. I look forward to many more meetings with Ray and I'm so glad that our Lord put him so close to me. I never cease to marvel at the wondrous hand of God in our lives!!

We are currently working our schedule and are excited about heading up into the New England area in the spring. This past Friday, January 26th, I had the privilege to speak at Morningside Christian school in Fort Pierce, FL. I love speaking to young people about serving the Lord on the mission field. This is just a quick trip to share the goodness of God! Will be speaking in Baton Rouge (my home town) this morning at 10:15am. I love the technology and ability to get around so quickly. In just a few hours, I'll be having breakfast in Baton Rouge with my friend from High School, Dan Andrews. After speaking at New Life Christian Church, I'll be attending a wonderful family reunion. A number of my aunts and cousins are gathering. It'll be so good to see my family! Then, early tomorrow morning, fly back to Orlando and in my office by 11:00am. I love it!!

Today, there will be concert in behalf of Air Mobile in Melbourne, Florida. A group of Barber Shop groups and the Sweet Adelines from our area (Melbourne, Cocoa, Cape Canaveral) are assisting Air Mobile with this conert. The goal: Raise $25,000 for an EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT FUND! This fund will enable Air Mobile to go on a moments notice anywhere on the face of the earth with 10 Vortex Voyagers. Those Voyagers will give us the ability to pump 10,000 liters of water per day, or give 5000 people precious, life saving water IMMEDIATELY after the disaster (whatevery it is). This is a life-long dream of mine. The ability to GO QUICKLY AND DO SOME GOOD! The Lord put that into my heart many years ago and now it's happening....with your help! My beautiful wife, Cindy, will be representing Air Mobile at the concert in my behalf.

Please be praying for us as we continue to go in the Name of the Lord!! Gotta run catch my flite. We thank God that there was no loss of life from this. Meanwhile, violent storms have ripped across the south causing at least 8 deaths. Please pray with us for the families that have suffered from these storms.

To learn more of our latest mission to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia please continue reading down on this report. This morning, an 8.3 earthquake occured off the coast of Japan. There was a Tsunami alert for the region, but it has since been cancelled. Air Mobile is standing by and following these events very closely. In my last report dated November 13, 2006 I was commenting on the lack of natural disasters for the moment. Oh well.....

At our Air Mobile office, we have an alert system in place for earthquakes. Over the last 36 hours, there has been a noted increase in activity. When the news of this quake came, I was not surprised. This 8.3 quake is a reminder of the volatility of the region.

At this point, Air Mobile is beginning to get in the deployment mode. We're checking our communication systems, putting Vortex Voyagers production plans into place, talking to prospective team members and following the reports coming out of the region. Earlier today, I spoke with Bud Wellman, a dear friend. Last night, I spoke to a prayer group in Bud and Joan's home. Bud may even be a "water mule" for Air Mobile should we go to Japan. A water mule is someone who helps us get the Vortex Voyager to the "Ground Zeros" of this old, groaning world.

Tonight, I'll have the privilege to speak at my home church, New Life Christian Fellowship here in Titusville. The pastor of this great church, Larry Linkous has been a friend, brother, partner and pastor to me for years. There's a lot wrapped up in our relationship. If you're in the area, please consider coming out and joining us tonight at New Life (Phone 321-269-7578 for directions).

Keep an eye on Air Mobile Joe's Editorial for periodic updates. God Bless You and thanks for checking our report.

Sincerely:

Joe Hurston

PS - CONTINUE READING ON DOWN REPORTS ON EVENTS THAT HAVE GOTTEN US THIS FAR!!

AIR MOBILE JOE'S EDITORIAL

November 13, 2006 - Monday 6:37pm (U.S. Eastern Time) Titusville, FL - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - President - Air Mobile Ministries

It's good to be home! I find myself praying diligently for the earthquakes, typhoons, volcanoes, floods, wars etc. to stay cool for a while. In that way, I'll be able to stay home for a bit. Of course, we should always be praying in this way, yet we know that these things (disasters/wars) will occur. The reason I formed Air Mobile 28 years ago is to GO and GO RAPIDLY to such disasters. That's the time that people most need help and the Lord has put into our hearts to do this kind of ministry.

None the less, it's nice to be home! Hope the relative "natural calamity" peace lasts through the holidays. I remember being in Pakistan last year about this time. Even went back over Christmas. Actually went through an earthquake on Christmas Day 2005 in Pakistan.

The most important thing in our lives is to be where our Lord wants us when He wants us there. We certainly don't always meet that goal, but we must continue on forward with all our strength.

We, at Air Mobile are excited about a number of things. This week, I'll be speaking at my home church, New Life in Titusville, FL, pastored by my good friend, Larry Linkous. The title of my message: "RUN TO THE ROAR". It makes sense, same title / theme as our book that just came out. The essence of the message is DON'T RUN FROM THE ROAR, the lion runs much faster than you. Turn and face those "Lions" in our life knowing that our Lord Jesus is with us and in us and He's greater than the greatest attacks in our life.

This coming Sunday, I'll be in Baton Rouge speaking at another church named New Life pastored by David Ellis. Again, I'll be ministering the same message. It's a message that we all need. Don't back down from the "lions" in our lives. Face them knowing that our Lord will ever be with us!

On that same Sunday, a wonderful Concert will be conducted by a group of talented musicians who use their voice as their instruments - The Barber Shop Singers and the Sweet Adelines. The concert will be in Melbourne, Florida. The goal of this concert is to help Air Mobile raise $25,000 as an EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT FUND!

These funds will purchase 10 Vortex Voyagers and provide airfare for a RAPID DEPLOYMENT TEAM to go anywhere on the face of the earth in a moments notice. In that way, we can be ready for the next disaster and get there RAPIDLY! Our mission is to bring life in the face of death.

There's a lot more going on and I'll share more later. God Bless and thanks for checking out AIR MOBILE JOE'S EDITORIAL.

Sincerely:

Joe Hurston
President - Air Mobile

PS - Continue reading down for our latest mission report from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. PLEASE feel free to give me a call at the office if you have any specific questions about this latest Air Mobile mission (U.S. # 321-267-7726).

Thanks again for your love, prayer and support!!

Sincerely:

Joe Hurston
President - Air Mobile

PS - PLEASE READ ON DOWN THROUGH THE FOLLOWING REPORTS TO SEE HOW THIS WONDERFUL OUTREACH UNFOLDED.

AIR MOBILE TO CAMBODIA AND BACK TO VIETNAM IN 24 HOURS - WHIRLWIND TRIP - MUCH ACCOMPLISHED VORTEX VOYAGERS@ REPAIRED / DEPLOYED AND TRAINING! MOTORCYCLES EVERYWHERE!

October 23, 2006 - Monday - 8:38pm (Vietnam time - 11 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time) Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - President - Air Mobile Ministries

Air Mobile made it's first trip into Cambodia and accomplished a lot in 24 hours! Upon arrival into Cambodia, we met Rahvy who works for World Vision. What a great contact. Immediately we headed out to a provencial town about an hour southeast of Phom Penh. There we found the Vortex Voyager placed there last year by Lauren, Rolf Engelhard's daughter. The unit had been dropped and damaged requiring a replacement. We came prepared. We also trained additional operators on the unit. Now, this community can receive clean drinking water again. Air Mobile makes every effort to support all the Voyagers in the field. Rahvy explained that many in the provencial areas of Cambodia do drink water directly (not boiling) from the streams and contaminated wells. The incidence of water-borne disease is very high.

From that community, we headed back to Pnom Penh and found a wonderful orphanage referred to us by Peggy Ewing. What a nice facility operated by Seoung Man, a man with a precious heart. The children in this well run and clean orphanage were very sweet and well mannered. After checking, we found out that the water in the region was very bad and they desperately needed a Vortex Voyager. Soon, we were training Seoung and his staff on the unit. With joy, they received our gift of a Vortex Voyager!

Yesterday morning we met Dr. Kit from Thailand. He and his associate are learning the Cambodian language and had a Vortex Voyager from Luka in Thailand. He had not had proper training on the unit. Though the Voyager is extremely simple to operate and maintain, basic training is necessary. We were able to thoroughly train Dr. Kit and his associate. Now, they're equipped to provide clean water wherever they do medical work.

The food in this region is delightful, though a bit unusual. The Chinese food here is slightly different from what we get in America. However, most fine restaraunts serve eel. After looking closely at them, I decided not to partake in the delicacy. I could see the sense of relief on the face of at least one eel, though I'm sure the relief was short lived. Many in this area truly love eels.

One experience from Cambodia that I would like to share was the visit to the Genocide Museum in downtown Phom Penh. What a heart-breaking experience. History tells of the bloody regime of the Khmer Rouge. Well, after visiting this incredible memorial to the fallen Cambodians during this time, I'll never be the same. Over 1 million people were killed during this time. The thing that devasted me was the broad range of the victims, from children and the old people to whole families. I posted just one photo of a group of children that lost their lives. The experience left me both weak and yet determined to continue to go into all the world and preach the love of Jesus! Truly, what the world needs now is Jesus!

After our full 24 hour mission to Cambodia, it was back to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A little complication with the Visa at the airport, but with patience and good help from the Degenhardt Foundation staff, we got through. Today, a little shopping, final touches on the report and boarding the first of multiple planes at midnight.

Getting ready for the long flight home. From the time of departure here, it will be 45-48 hours before actually landing in Orlando. And the battle with jet-lag will go on for a couple of days after the return home. These journey's really turn your internal clock upside down. I'll be back in my office on October 26th. Feel free to contact me then. In the meantime, don't hesitate to e-mail me at: joehurston@airmobile.org.

Finally, I can't begin to express my own personal joy at being able to follow the Lord Jesus on this noble mission of bringing clean water to thirsty people. Thanks again for your love, prayer and help!

Sincerely:

Joe Hurston
President - Air Mobile Ministries

PLEASE CONTINUE READING DOWN TO SEE HOW THIS EXCELLENT MISSION UNFOLDED. Just a quick glimpse of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). A teeming, rapid moving city of 10 million. There is perpetual motion all around us. The city is relatively clean and seems to function quite well. The roads near the city are good. We crossed the Mekong River yesterday heading out to a beautiful orphanage / school. The Mekong is a huge river, rivaling the mighty Mississippi. We've been on the Mekong in Thailand and Laos, so we're becoming quite familiar with it. We were impressed with the excellent care given to the orphans in the Orphanage in Ben Tre. Read next report below for details on deploying a Vortex Voyager in this orphanage.

Dr. Steve Henley was here during the Vietnam war as a dentist. He shared some amazing stories with us. The people of Vietnam are gracious and very friendly and courteous towards Americans. We've made some good friends here and look forward to coming back.

This evening we had dinner this evening with NGO Director (Non Government Organization), Joy Degenardt of the Degenhardt Foundation and discussed the great need for having Vortex Voyagers strategically positioned BEFORE the next disaster here in Vietnam. Now, that's the way we need to think.

Please be praying that we develop an effective and successful plan to save lives. Earlier this month, a typhoon struck Vietnam in Danang and in the Quang Nam Province (central Vietnam) and tremendous flooding occured. There are still regions that are isolated and there is a huge need for clean drinking water. Joy and her staff are reseaching this at this time, now that they have a Vortex Voyager that they can deploy.

It's so good to be able to offer such tremendous help in time of need in the service of the Lord! What a wonderful witness and testimony to the goodness of God!

Today, we head to Cambodia. We'll be servicing 2 Vortex Voyagers that were positioned by Rolf Engelhart's daughter last year. Rolf is the inventor of the Vortex Voyager. We'll also be visiting a doctor from Thailand that is working with Luka (I introduced you to Luka in my report from yesterday). We'll also be visiting an orphanage referred to us by a good friend of Barbara Walker, Peggy Ewing. We're very excited about going to Cambodia. It's cool that there are already 3 Vortex Voyagers in Cambodia and it's Air Mobile's first visit.

I'll try to send a report from Cambodia, but it's hard to say what our access to the internet will be. Better run for now. THANKS for your love, prayer and support!!

Sincerely:

Joe Hurston
President - Air Mobile

PS - PLEASE continue reading down to see how this mission has developed!!

MISSION TO THAILAND & LAOS - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! - JUST ARRIVED IN VIETNAM!

October 19, 2006 - Thursday - 8:44pm (Vietnam Time) Ho Chih Minh City, Vietnam - Report submitted by Joe Hurston - President - Air Mobile Ministries

I am writing you from downtown Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. We landed here from Bangkok yesterday evening. Earlier yesterday, we flew from Chiang Rai (northern Thailand) to Bangkok. We have been on a whirl-wind mission. After arriving into Thailand 7 days ago, the Air Mobile team has not stopped moving. We have had no time for jet-lag, though it's roaring at us.

We just keep plodding forward, sometimes at a very rapid rate. Like day before yesterday, when we flew down the Mekong River in high speed power boats from the northern Laos border. That boat ride saved us about 7 additional hours of a grueling, dangerous drive through the mountains of Laos. These boats are real fast!

A couple of days ago, we deployed a Vortex Voyager in Muang Sing, Laos. The hospital administrator was just overjoyed. The staff knew full well what the Vortex Voyager would do for the health of their patients. Reach Out To Haiti funded this unit. Barbara Walker works with Air Mobile world-wide on this life-saving project. Cindy, my wife, and Barbara deployed units with Luka last year. It is so good to be able follow up on this work and expand it.

We were able to visit multiple Akha Tribes in the Northern Laos area. Luka, our Thai host and his team of young people demonstrated such grace and joy in all of the areas that we visited. The Akha people have an amazing story filled with tragedy, triumph and great challenges. The thing that was so touching on this particular outreach were the children. This photo of a little girl caring for her little sister really moved me.

There is much more that I would like to share, but for reasons of protecting the church in that region, I do not have the liberty. Suffice it to say, that we had the privilege of sharing great Grace and Joy!!

Afer spending another evening in the region, we were again on the road heading right to the China border. We actually stood on the line dividing Laos and China. We hope to go into China on our next journey into this region. The need for clean water is everywhere and we are so glad to be able to help with this need.

Dr. Steve Henley, who has been working in this region for a number of years found Luka. What a remarkable connection. Then Barbara Walker came to the region just after the tsumani in February 2005 and brought them a Vortex Voyager. Then last year, Barbara and Cindy came back to the region to follow up on the work. The more I get to know about Luka and his story, the more blessed I am and rejoice that our Lord has brought us together. I'd like to share just a bit of his story with you.

Back in 1962 Luka's Mom and Dad accepted Christ after a couple of missionaries visited their village. Soon, the villagers rejected them and they were forced to flee from Burma into Thailand. Luka was born in 1964. The church grew and many miracles happened. Then the missionaries were brutally murdered because of their faith. Their village was burned. Luka's mother and father stood firm! Now, their work has grown many times over and Luka leads this ministry. Again, there are so many details that I cannot share, but they are forever burned into my heart. We count it such a divine privilege to be able to work side by side with such powerful and committed Christians!

Dr. Henley flew into Vietnam yesterday and met us at the airport here in Ho Chi Minh City. Today, we deployed a Vortex Voyager at an orphanage / school in Ben Tre (about 3 hours southeast of Ho Chi Minh City). The director of the orphanage received the unit with tremendous joy and thanks! The health of the children will improve! Reach Out To Haiti and Barbara Walker wants to help these babies in Vietnam. Barbara knows how well the Vortex Voyagers have improved the health of the chilren in Ruuska Village in Haiti.

As always, YOUR PRAYER is so precious! We immediately hit the road for the north Thailand border on the Mekong River. I have so many memories of the Mekong from all the reports from the Vietnam war era. Well, it's a huge, swift, muddy river running quite high as this area is coming to the end of the rainy season. Down in southern Thailand, there is major flooding. When we arrived in this border town, it was dusk. We were all tired, Dr. Steve Henley, Barbara and I had just completed a long flight half way round the world. That old jet lag just hits you like a ton of bricks.

Just after our team settled in for the evening, a very strong earthquake hit us. It felt just like a big truck ran into the side of the hotel. Brought back a lot of memories of the tsunami that hit Indonesia, India and Thailand. It took me a while to get back to sleep.

Early this morning we headed down to the river and crossed the Mekong on one of those skinny boats (about 4 feet wide and 20 feet long). Our team of 12 loaded it up and shot across the very swift moving Mekong. On the other side of the river is Laos. After clearing customs and immigration, we hit the road for a 10 hour truck ride across the country. One of our vehicles bottomed out on the muddy road and sprung a transmission leak. We squeezed our 12 man team into one pick up truck and continued our grueling journey across Laos.

I have spectacular photos, but I'm in a small internet cafe' in the northern Laos and just a few miles from China and can't download them. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some on the blog and share this adventure with you.

Tomorrow, we head out to deploy some Vortex Voyager water purifiers. That's the most exciting part of this whole mission, bringing clean water to those that so need it.

I'll make this report brief, as I'm delerious with jet lag and just sore and bleary eyed. Thanks for following our journey. Feel free to write me at: joehurston@airmobile.org. Not sure when I'll be able to update the blog. As always, really appreciate your prayers!! Fly to northern part of Thailand later today. There is bad flooding in 46 of Thailand's 72 provinces. The timing of Air Mobile's arrival affords an opportunity to help in this crisis. We thank God for giving us the privilege to serve in this capacity.

I would like to welcome you to a new forum for the Air Mobile audience. For a long time, I've been thinking of a way to catch you up both when Air Mobile's on the move on a mission and time's when we're back in the U.S. handling the day to day activities of the ministry. I may refer you to a current Mission Report or just comment on the day's news on this "Editorial Page". A bit later, I will add a link to this site for "LIVE" Running Journal of this Thailand Mission. We believe that our Lord is going to do great things here.

As always, the most important thing we need is prayer! As you read this, please take a moment and lift us up as we GO into all the world and bring the Good News of Jesus! I never cease to marvel at the perfect "timing" of the Lord. When this trip was scheduled, we had no way of knowing that we would arrive into the country during some the worst flooding in recent memory. We only want to be used by the Lord to reach others with His love!

It just so happens that Air Mobile is "On the Move" and now in Thailand and will be working in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos over the next 2 weeks. But, I'd like to fill you in on what we've been up to lately. The last full ministry report we brought to you, apart from the publishing of our new book, "Run to the Roar" was from Indonesia. Our Indonesian mission was a great success (you can read a full Indonesia Report on the Air Mobile homepage).

Well, we've been back to Haiti 2 times since the Indonesia Mission in late June / early July. We've had very successful missions and have delivered and set up nearly 180 Vortex Voyagers all throughout Haiti (we delivered 32 units on the last 2 missions). What a wonderful demonstration of the love of the Lord. Clean water goes a long way toward showing the love of the Lord. The reason we haven't written about Haiti is for security reasons. You may ask, SECURITY REASONS, just what do you mean, Joe?

You may recall the February 2006 Haiti report, we were attacked, robbed, beaten and there was an attempted kidnapping on us. Since then, we've been very low key about our Haiti missions. Mainly because, we want to get in and get out safely and accomplish our mission. For that reason, we don't say much about what we're doing in Haiti. We don't want to tip the "Bad Guys" off about what we're doing. The most important measure is the protecting hand of the Lord! Please note - after the February attack in Haiti, we were BACK in Haiti less than 4 weeks later. We have not let that attack deter us from our mission. That's the reason, I mentioned right at the beginning of this report that WE NEED PRAYER! Your prayer is so important to us!

Enough time has passed and we have certain measures into place that increases our security. Therefore, I can share a bit about what we've been up to in Haiti. Praise God for His protection and wisdom.

In just a few hours we'll be meeting with several ministries before we depart for Chiang Rai (pronounced Shang Rye) in the north. There we will meet with another medical ministry. Will give more details after getting to Chiang Rai and finding an internet conncection. This report will bounce between an update on recent missions as well as our current mission to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Check in from time to time for exciting, "live" udpates. Again, WELCOME ABOARD! Going to bed now after a very, very long day. God Bless!

Joe Hurston
President - Air Mobile
